Abstract

|
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to develop a problem-based learning package that can be applied to dental hygiene and subjects, and to apply the developed package to learning to check problem solving ability, self-directed learning ability, and academic self-efficacy.
Methods: In order to develop a problem-oriented learning package, the application possibility for clinical hygiene subjects was identified through literature review, and a problem-based learning (PBL) package was developed based on its effectiveness and necessity.
Results: As such, after learning the literacy-oriented learning package, the participants had a tendency to actively participate in the subject learning time and to think more critically, and it was found to be effective in improving problem solving ability and self-directed learning ability.
Conclusions: Based on this study, it will grow as a dental hygienist with specialized competency by improving problem solving ability, thinking ability, and social ability through indirect experiences in various clinical trials that cannot be solved by clinical practice alone. Also, in order to improve the learning effect of learners, it is considered that various packages for each dental hygiene area that can be applied to the dental hygiene department will be needed.
